Verdict:Qualtrics does not publish prices: every product on its pricing page says Request Pricing, and it notes plans may differ by industry. That is the first reason to look elsewhere, because you cannot compare a number you cannot see. Who should leave? Universities and teams with a handful of questionnaires and no need for an experience-management suite. For those, LimeSurvey is the closest free match on survey logic, quotas and ethics-friendly self-hosting, since the Community Edition is GPL-2.0 or later and you hold the data. Formbricks suits product teams, with an open-source core and a free tier of 250 responses a month. If you need a bought, supported tool this week, SurveyMonkey shows a price, $30 per user a month annually with three users minimum, and Tally, Jotform and Typeform cover simpler questionnaires from free to about $34 a month. The trade-off is scope. Qualtrics bundles advanced analysis, panels, workflows and enterprise controls that none of these match, and a university licence may already include it at no cost to you. Check that before switching. We did not test migrating surveys out of Qualtrics, and logic exports rarely map one to one.

Why people look for Qualtrics alternatives

Qualtrics publishes no prices. Each product on its pricing page carries a Request Pricing button, and the demo and pricing forms are the only routes. Cost depends on usage, counted in interactions for Customer Experience and Market Research or in employee count for Employee Experience, and the page says it may vary by industry. It names no plans and states no free account limits, so a small team cannot work out a budget before speaking to sales. For a straightforward survey that process is often more than the job needs.

LimeSurvey

Compared with Qualtrics: Free self-hosted Community Edition (GPL-2.0 or later) with advanced survey logic, against Qualtrics' quote-only pricing. You lose Qualtrics' experience-management suite and support, and take on hosting and updates.

Price: Free (Free package on LimeSurvey Cloud (see the pricing page for limits); Community Edition is self-hosted); paid from $36 per month, billed annually (Expert; Basic is $39 billed monthly) (LimeSurvey pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Web, Self-hosted. GPL-2.0 or later (open source).

Project activity: 3.8k GitHub stars · last commit Oct 27, 2026

Best for: Academic and research surveys.

Formbricks

Compared with Qualtrics: Open-source (AGPL-3.0) survey platform with a free 250-response plan, versus Qualtrics where every product says Request Pricing. Aimed at product feedback, not enterprise experience programmes.

Price: Free (Hobby plan: 1 workspace and 250 responses a month); paid from $74 per month (Pro, 3 workspaces and 2,000 responses; annual billing gives 2 months free) (Formbricks pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Web, Self-hosted. AGPL-3.0 (core; enterprise features under a separate license) (open source).

Project activity: 13.2k GitHub stars · latest release 6.1.2 (Oct 27, 2026) · last commit Oct 27, 2026

Best for: Product and customer feedback.

SurveyMonkey

Compared with Qualtrics: Publishes a number, $30 per user a month for Team Advantage with three users minimum, where Qualtrics publishes none. Less research-grade than Qualtrics, but far quicker to buy and run.

Price: Free (Basic plan shows only a limited number of responses per survey); paid from $30 per user/month, Team Advantage, minimum 3 users, billed annually (SurveyMonkey pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Web. Proprietary.

Best for: Teams wanting a quick hosted tool.

Tally

Compared with Qualtrics: Free for unlimited forms and submissions within fair use, a sharp contrast to Qualtrics' sales-led pricing. No enterprise controls or advanced survey analysis, so it fits simple questionnaires only.

Price: Free (Unlimited forms and submissions within Tally's fair usage guidelines); paid from $24 per month (Pro; yearly billing is advertised as 2 months off) (Tally pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Web. Proprietary.

Best for: Light surveys with no budget.

Jotform

Compared with Qualtrics: Free Starter plan with 5 forms and 100 submissions a month; paid from $34 a month. Lacks Qualtrics' research features but is self-serve with visible pricing.

Price: Free (Starter plan with 5 active forms, 100 submissions a month and 100 MB of upload space); paid from $34 per month, billed annually (Bronze; $39 billed monthly) (Jotform pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Web, iOS, Android. Proprietary.

Best for: Forms with some survey needs.

Typeform

Compared with Qualtrics: Has a free plan and paid from $28 a month billed yearly, with prices on the page. A friendly respondent experience, but nowhere near Qualtrics' statistical and panel tools.

Price: Free (Free plan with a limited number of responses a month; the page gives no count); paid from $28 per month, billed yearly (Basic, 100 responses a month, 1 user; $39 billed monthly) (Typeform pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Web, iOS, Android. Proprietary.

Best for: Customer-facing surveys.

Zoho Survey

Compared with Qualtrics: A free plan with unlimited surveys, 10 questions and 100 responses per survey, against Qualtrics' quote-only model. Paid tiers raise response limits to 12,000 or unlimited, though advanced research and experience-management depth is thinner than Qualtrics.

Price: Free (Free plan: unlimited surveys, 10 questions and 100 responses per survey, 1 user; skip logic, scoring and quotas not included) (Zoho Survey pricing, checked 2026-10-25).

SurveySparrow

Compared with Qualtrics: Lists published response limits per plan, from 2,500 on Basic to 36,000 on Business, plus a free plan and a 14-day trial. Much lighter on enterprise research tooling than Qualtrics, with a conversational survey style.

Price: Free (Free plan: 3 active surveys, 10 questions per survey, 75 responses per quarter (the FAQ says 50 per month)) (SurveySparrow pricing, checked 2026-10-25).
