Verdict:Bloomberg Terminal is sold through sales, so quote it directly. Leave it only if you do not use what makes it worth the cost: real-time data across asset classes, the messaging network, and analytics. If you are a retail investor or a student, those are rarely needed. Koyfin is the closest dashboard feel, with a free plan limited to two years of financials and Plus at $39 a month. TradingView is better for charts, with a free Basic plan and Essential at $12.95 a month billed annually. Finviz is a screener first, free for registered accounts. Yahoo Finance covers quotes and news for free, with paid tiers from $7.95 a month. OpenBB is the one for people who code: it is open source under Apache-2.0 and connects data sources to Python and Excel, but it is a toolkit, not a ready terminal. The trade-off is coverage and trust. None of these replace Bloomberg for bond desks or professionals who need its data and chat. For individuals researching stocks, combine two of them for a fraction of a terminal's cost.
