Verdict:Most people leave Yahoo Finance for one of three reasons: the ads, the paywalled research, or the missing export. Yahoo Plus starts at $7.95 a month on yearly billing for Bronze, which removes standard third-party ads. Silver at $19.95 adds Morningstar Ratings and research reports, and Gold at $39.95 adds CSV download of historical data and about 40 years of statements. If ads are the issue and you do not want to pay, Google Finance gives free quotes, charts, news and watchlists, and StockAnalysis Pro is $8.25 a month on annual billing. For charts and alerts, TradingView's free Basic plan holds a 30-symbol watchlist and 3 price alerts. For screens, Finviz is faster, though its free version delays quotes and blocks export. Koyfin is the nearest step up when you want statements and dashboards, and OpenBB is the route when your real need is pulling data into Python or Excel without paying for Gold. The trade-off is that Yahoo bundles quotes, news, portfolio tracking and research in one place, and each replacement covers only part of that. Stay with Yahoo if you track a simple list and can ignore the ads. Switch when you want a clean screen, a better chart, or data you can export.
