Verdict:Leave Prezi if the zooming style no longer earns its learning curve, or if you need a deck that works without your audience being impressed by motion. Prezi has a free Basic plan with a watermark, so confirm your current limits on its pricing page before you decide. Google Slides is the safest swap: free, familiar and good for shared editing. LibreOffice Impress is the pick for offline use and plain files with no account. Canva gives you designed templates and is easier to make look good, though you should check its current free-plan limits. Gamma will draft a deck from a prompt on its one-time free credits, which is a different workflow from Prezi's manual canvas. Slidev is for developers who want slides as Markdown they can version. The trade-off is style: none of these zoom across a single canvas the way Prezi does, so an existing Prezi will need its structure rebuilt as linear slides. Check how your audience views it; exporting to PDF or PPTX removes the animation that was Prezi's main feature. If the zoom effect is the reason people remember your talks, stay.

LibreOffice 25.8: New features

By LibreOffice - The Document Foundation ·

Playing loads YouTube. YouTube will receive your IP address and device information.

Good fit if

  • You want a free deck your team can edit together (Google Slides is the pick)
  • You present offline without an account (LibreOffice is the pick)
  • You want a designed deck from templates (Canva is the pick)
  • You want a first draft generated from a prompt (Gamma is the pick)

Not ideal if

  • You rely on Prezi features or integrations that these tools do not replicate

Prezi today: Free (Free plan: presentations carry a Prezi watermark, up to 14 slides; PDF and PowerPoint export are on paid plans) (Prezi pricing, checked 2026-10-24).

Why people look for Prezi alternatives

Prezi's free plan puts a Prezi watermark on presentations, caps each one at 14 slides and limits uploads to 25 MB. PDF, PowerPoint and SCORM export require a paid plan, which also raises the upload limit to 50 MB. A free user who needs to hand over a file, or build a longer deck, has to upgrade. Share links work on every plan, but a copy you can open without Prezi is a paid feature.

Google Slides

Compared with Prezi: Free with a Google account, in the browser and on mobile, with shared editing. It is a linear slide deck, so you lose Prezi's zooming canvas, but gain a tool everyone can open and edit without a new login.

Price: Free (Free for anyone with a Google account (storage counts against the account quota)) (Google Slides pricing, checked 2026-10-23).

Platforms and license: Web, iOS, Android. Proprietary.

Best for: Standard decks with team editing.

LibreOffice

Compared with Prezi: Free MPL-licensed suite with Impress for slides, working offline. No zoom-across-canvas effect like Prezi and no cloud sharing, but there is no watermark and no subscription.

Price: Free (download and use at no cost per its site) (LibreOffice pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Windows, macOS, Linux. MPL-2.0 (open source).

Best for: Offline presentations at no cost.

Worth knowing: Desktop suite of Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Base and Math; it has no built-in cloud storage or email.

Slidev

Compared with Prezi: Free MIT project that turns Markdown into slides and exports PDF, PNG and PPTX. Needs Node.js and some coding comfort, unlike Prezi's visual editor, but suits technical talks and version control.

Price: Free (Free and open source; slides are written in Markdown and run on Node.js) (Slidev pricing, checked 2026-10-23).

Platforms and license: Web, Windows, macOS, Linux. MIT (open source).

Project activity: 49.2k GitHub stars · latest release v53.0.0 (Sep 16, 2026) · last commit Oct 23, 2026

Best for: Technical talks written as code.

Worth knowing: Developer-oriented: slides are written in Markdown and served from a local dev server, so it needs Node.js.

Canva

Compared with Prezi: Free plan with templates and a presentation mode. More design-led than Prezi and easier to style, but it is a slide deck, not a zooming canvas.

Price: Free (Free plan available; see the pricing page for its current limits) (Canva pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android. Proprietary.

Best for: Designed decks from templates.

Gamma

Compared with Prezi: Free plan gives 400 one-time AI credits, then Plus is $8 a month billed annually. Gamma generates a deck from a prompt in one step, which Prezi does not, but you lose the zooming layout.

Price: Free (Free plan with a one-time allotment of 400 AI credits (Gamma help center)); paid from $8 per user/month, billed annually (Plus; $10 billed monthly) (Gamma pricing, checked 2026-10-23).

Platforms and license: Web. Proprietary.

Best for: AI-drafted decks.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Compared with Prezi: Desktop PowerPoint is sold inside Microsoft 365, so its price comes as part of a suite. It builds linear slide decks, so you lose Prezi's zooming canvas; Prezi's free plan adds a watermark and caps decks at 14 slides.

Price: Free (Free web version with a Microsoft account (reported by third-party reviews; the official page was not readable)) (Microsoft PowerPoint pricing, checked 2026-10-23).
