Verdict:Beautiful.ai charges $14.50 a month on its Pro plan billed annually, and I found no free plan on the page apart from student offers. Its draw is smart slides that adjust spacing and layout as you add content, which saves time for people who dislike fiddling with alignment. The question is whether that saving is worth the subscription. If you want the same prompt-to-deck speed, Gamma starts free with 400 credits and its Plus price is lower. Pitch is a strong choice for teams, with a free plan and Plus at EUR 10 a month paid yearly. Canva suits people who care about visuals more than automatic layout, and its free plan is enough for most one-off decks. Google Slides and LibreOffice Impress are free baselines and have no auto-design, so expect to spend longer on each slide. Slidev is for developers who already write in Markdown. The trade-off is polish per minute. Beautiful.ai keeps a deck looking tidy with little effort, while the free options either require your design judgement or burn limited AI credits. Gamma's credits run out, and free plans in this group can add watermarks or restrict exports, so check the export before sending a deck to a client. If you make a handful of decks a year, switch to Gamma or Canva free. If decks are your daily work, the Pro price is easy to justify.

Beautiful.ai today: Paid from $14.5 per month, billed annually (Pro) (Beautiful.ai pricing, checked 2026-10-23).

Why people look for Beautiful.ai alternatives

Beautiful.ai has no free plan, only a 14-day trial of Pro or Team that needs a credit card and is charged in full if you do not cancel before it ends. Pro is $14.50 per month on annual billing, with a $45 one-month option for single projects. Team is $40 per user per month annually or $50 monthly, for 2 to 20 members, and caps the library at 5 workspace themes, 10 presentation templates and 50 slide library items. Only students on .edu emails get a free year.

Gamma

Compared with Beautiful.ai: Generates decks from a prompt; the free plan gives a one-time 400 credits and Plus is $8 per user a month billed annually. Less strict auto-layout than Beautiful.ai, but cheaper and the free start is real.

Price: Free (Free plan with a one-time allotment of 400 AI credits (Gamma help center)); paid from $8 per user/month, billed annually (Plus; $10 billed monthly) (Gamma pricing, checked 2026-10-23).

Platforms and license: Web. Proprietary.

Best for: AI deck generation.

Canva

Compared with Beautiful.ai: Free plan with many templates and a drag-and-drop editor. You lose Beautiful.ai's smart slides that re-layout as you type, but gain wide template choice at no charge.

Price: Free (Free plan available; see the pricing page for its current limits) (Canva pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android. Proprietary.

Best for: Template-driven design.

Pitch

Compared with Beautiful.ai: Free plan with unlimited presentations and 100 one-time AI credits; Plus is EUR 10 a month paid yearly. Comparable collaboration and templates, at a lower entry price than Beautiful.ai's $14.50 Pro.

Google Slides

Compared with Beautiful.ai: Free in the browser with a Google account. No smart layout, so you align things by hand, but it opens anywhere and costs nothing against Beautiful.ai's $14.50 a month.

Price: Free (Free for anyone with a Google account (storage counts against the account quota)) (Google Slides pricing, checked 2026-10-23).

Platforms and license: Web, iOS, Android. Proprietary.

Best for: Free and universal.

Slidev

Compared with Beautiful.ai: MIT-licensed Markdown slides for developers. No visual editor and needs Node.js, which is the opposite of Beautiful.ai's design automation, but free and version controlled.

Price: Free (Free and open source; slides are written in Markdown and run on Node.js) (Slidev pricing, checked 2026-10-23).

Platforms and license: Web, Windows, macOS, Linux. MIT (open source).

Project activity: 49.2k GitHub stars · latest release v53.0.0 (Sep 16, 2026) · last commit Oct 23, 2026

Best for: Developer decks.

Worth knowing: Developer-oriented: slides are written in Markdown and served from a local dev server, so it needs Node.js.

LibreOffice

Compared with Beautiful.ai: Impress is free, MPL-2.0, and runs offline on Windows, macOS and Linux. Beautiful.ai's smart layout is absent, so it takes manual design work for a free, local tool.

Price: Free (download and use at no cost per its site) (LibreOffice pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: Windows, macOS, Linux. MPL-2.0 (open source).

Best for: Offline free editor.

Worth knowing: Desktop suite of Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Base and Math; it has no built-in cloud storage or email.

Prezi

Compared with Beautiful.ai: Zoomable, non-linear presentations rather than Beautiful.ai's auto-layout slides. Prezi has a free plan limited to 14 slides with a watermark, while Beautiful.ai only offers a trial.

Price: Free (Free plan: presentations carry a Prezi watermark, up to 14 slides; PDF and PowerPoint export are on paid plans) (Prezi pricing, checked 2026-10-24).
