Verdict:Loom Starter is free for up to 10 users, but each person gets 25 recordings and a 5-minute screen recording limit, and Business is $18 per user per month to lift both. Since Atlassian now sells Loom, pricing may move with Atlassian's bundles, so it is worth checking the Teamwork Collection before you leave. The 5-minute cap is the thing most people hit first, and that decides the alternative. If you need longer videos with a share link, Vidyard's free plan allows up to 30 minutes but only 5 videos a month, and Cap's cloud links are limited to 5 minutes while its local recordings have no limit. If you need open-source code you can inspect or host, Cap is the match, since its web app can be self-hosted. If you only need to send a quick capture, Screenity's free Chrome extension is enough. OBS Studio removes every cap but gives you a file, not a link. Zight is the weakest free plan of the group, and it only makes sense for its screenshot and GIF tools. Run the same five-minute walkthrough in your two finalists and compare the sharing step, which is where these tools differ most. Before moving, download your existing Loom videos and check what your current plan lets you keep.
