An email tracker tells you when a message was opened, usually by embedding a tiny image that loads when the recipient reads it. Free plans exist for this, but each one restricts a different thing, so match the limit to how you send. Mailsuite, the product formerly called Mailtrack, allows unlimited tracked emails on the free plan but records only the first open. Streak also includes email and link tracking in its free plan and limits mail merge to 50 sends a day. HubSpot's free Sales Hub tier advertises unlimited tracking through its Gmail and Outlook extension. Yesware and Right Inbox are stricter: Yesware's free plan gives basic open tracking with 10 campaign recipients a month, and Right Inbox tracks only 5 emails a month. Mixmax's free plan caps sequences at 50 recipients a month; check the pricing page for what tracking the free tier includes. The trade-off to know about is accuracy and ethics. Image blocking and mail apps that preload images, such as Apple Mail's privacy protection, produce false opens, so treat a tracker as a hint rather than proof, and tell recipients if your jurisdiction expects it. For cold outreach at volume, the free plans here run out fast.
