Verdict:Leave pgAdmin if you want a client that covers more than PostgreSQL in one window, or a lighter tool for everyday queries. pgAdmin is open source under the PostgreSQL License, and its site describes it as free and maintained by its users. There are no plans or prices to pay. DBeaver is the most complete free replacement, since its Community Edition is Apache-2.0 and handles PostgreSQL alongside other engines. pgweb is MIT-licensed and runs as a small local web client, which suits quick queries from a terminal. Adminer is a single file that works on a PHP server and handles PostgreSQL. Beekeeper Studio and DbGate are free clients for solo work or open-source use, with fewer PostgreSQL-specific admin screens than pgAdmin. The trade-off is depth against reach. pgAdmin exposes server-side PostgreSQL features in detail, while the replacements are general clients that are faster to open and work across databases. If your daily work is tuning and administering PostgreSQL servers, keep pgAdmin and use a lighter client alongside it.
