Verdict:HoneyBook bundles proposals, contracts, invoices and scheduling for service businesses. Replacing it means deciding which of those parts you still need. Dubsado is closest in depth: client workflows and automations with no free plan, a 21-day trial and Starter at $335 a year. Bonsai is for freelancers who want proposals, contracts and time tracking in one tool, billed at $9 per user a month annually after a 7-day trial. Invoice Ninja is free for up to five clients on its hosted plan, which suits people who only need invoicing and payments. Wave's Starter plan is free for invoices, estimates and bookkeeping, a fit if your problem is accounting rather than client work. Zoho Books is free while annual revenue stays under $50K, then from $15 per organization a month billed annually, and it is built for ledgers and reports rather than client workflows. The trade-off is the handoff. HoneyBook keeps proposals, contracts and payments in one client record, and splitting them across two tools means keeping two sets of client records. Pick the tool that solves your biggest pain point first, not the one with the most features.

HoneyBook today: Paid from $29 per month, billed yearly (Starter) (HoneyBook pricing, checked 2026-10-22).
HoneyBook's entry plan is thin for how most studios work. Starter at $29 a month billed yearly omits the scheduler, automations and QuickBooks integration, and caps live lead forms at 2. Those arrive with Essentials at $49, which still allows only 2 team members; unlimited team members and multiple companies need Premium at $109. The page shows $59 and $129 struck through beside the paid tiers, probably monthly rates. Card fees are listed as 2.7% + 10 cents in one place and 2.9% + 25 cents in another, so confirm before relying on either.
