Verdict:Webflow is a visual site builder with a free Starter plan and paid site plans. Use its own pricing page for current numbers. People leave for lower cost, ownership of the code, or a simpler tool. Webstudio is the closest in concept: its repo describes an open-source visual platform with an AGPL-3.0 core that connects to any headless CMS and can be self-hosted. Framer is the polished option for marketing pages, with a free plan limited to a Framer domain and 1 GB bandwidth, and Basic at $10 a month for custom domains. Carrd is the budget pick for single-page sites, with Pro Lite from $9 a year. WordPress.com offers a free plan on a subdomain and Personal from $2.75 a month, and has a huge plugin world on paid tiers. Hugo trades the visual editor for files: it is Apache-2.0 and you host the output anywhere. The trade-off is where you want the complexity. Webflow gives designers control of layout and a CMS without code, and the alternatives either simplify it (Carrd), move it into code (Hugo), or ask you to run more yourself (Webstudio self-hosting). Stay if designers own the site. Leave if cost, code export, or ownership matters more.
