Verdict:Elementor's free editor ships 31 widgets, and the cheapest paid plan, Essential, starts at $60 a year for one site. Leave it if you are paying that only for a few layout blocks, or if you want to stop updating a page builder plugin. The WordPress block editor is the first thing to try: it is part of WordPress under GPL-2.0-or-later, so you add nothing. Kadence Blocks and Spectra extend it with more blocks at no cost, and both are listed on WordPress.org. If you want a classic drag-and-drop builder rather than blocks, Beaver Builder has a free Lite version and a $89 yearly Starter plan, though Lite does less than Elementor's free editor. Bricks is a developer-oriented option at $79 a year with a $599 lifetime plan, and no free license. The trade-off is conversion. Pages built in Elementor do not turn into blocks; you rebuild them, and Elementor's template kits, popups and theme builder have no one-to-one equivalent in the free options. Stay if your sites rely on Elementor templates and dynamic content. Move if most of your pages are text, images and a few columns, where native blocks plus one block library will do the job.

Good fit if

  • You want extra blocks without paying (Kadence Blocks is the pick)
  • You want free Gutenberg blocks and popups (Spectra is the pick)

  • You build many client sites and want a lifetime license (Bricks is the pick)

Not ideal if

  • You rely on Elementor features or integrations that these tools do not replicate

Elementor today: Free (Free Editor with 31 widgets including Container, Grid, Heading, Image and Tabs; site limit not stated); paid from $60 per year (Essential, 1 site) (Elementor pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Why people look for Elementor alternatives

Elementor's cheapest paid plan, Essential, covers one site and still leaves out the Popup Builder, custom code and CSS, eCommerce features and form submissions. Those arrive with Advanced Solo (1 site) or Advanced (3 sites). Plans are billed annually and renew at the regular list rate, and the 30-day money-back guarantee applies only to annual plans. Elementor One's monthly AI credits do not roll over, and it does not include hosting.

WordPress block editor

Compared with Elementor: Built into WordPress core, GPL-2.0-or-later, no extra plugin or license. You lose Elementor's widget library and visual theme builder, but you keep one less plugin to update and a cleaner page output.

Price: Free (built into WordPress core) (WordPress block editor pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: WordPress. GPL-2.0-or-later (WordPress) (open source).

Best for: Simple pages with no page builder plugin.

Kadence Blocks

Compared with Elementor: Free plugin that adds accordions, galleries, forms and icons to the native block editor, with a paid Pro add-on for advanced blocks. You work in blocks rather than Elementor's canvas, so layouts take a different approach.

Price: Free (core plugin is free; Pro is a paid add-on) (Kadence Blocks pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: WordPress. Not stated.

Best for: Extending the block editor for free.

Spectra

Compared with Elementor: Free block library for the Gutenberg editor with layout, form, SEO and social blocks plus a popup builder. The listing is Spectra Legacy, so new features live in a separate plugin. It lacks Elementor's template ecosystem.

Price: Free (plugin listed for free download in the WordPress directory) (Spectra pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: WordPress. Not stated.

Best for: Free extra blocks for the native editor.

Beaver Builder

Compared with Elementor: Has a free Lite version on WordPress.org and a paid Starter plan at $89 a year for one live site. It is a front-end builder like Elementor but Lite is more limited than Elementor's 31-widget free editor.

Price: Free (free Lite version on WordPress.org); paid from $89 per year (Starter, 1 live site) (Beaver Builder pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: WordPress. Not stated.

Best for: A conventional builder with a lower entry price.

Worth knowing: Currency symbol shown as $ without a code.

Bricks

Compared with Elementor: Paid builder at $79 a year for one site, with a lifetime plan at $599 and no free license, only an online playground. It costs more than Elementor's free tier but targets developers who want a theme-level builder.

Price: Paid from $79 per year (Starter, 1 site) (Bricks pricing, checked 2026-10-22).

Platforms and license: WordPress. Proprietary.

Best for: Developers who want a paid builder with a lifetime option.

Worth knowing: Lifetime plan is a one-time USD 599.

Divi

Compared with Elementor: Yearly plan is $89 with unlimited sites, against Elementor Essential at $60 a year for one site. A $249 lifetime plan also exists, so renewals do not apply.

Price: Paid from $89 per year (Divi Yearly, unlimited sites) (Divi pricing, checked 2026-10-25).
