If you want Spotify Wrapped-style stats outside Spotify's yearly release, Last.fm and ListenBrainz are the two year-round trackers: both are free to join and connect to Spotify, and ListenBrainz is open source. Spotify's newsroom, read on October 28, 2026, shows 2025 as the latest Wrapped and gives no date for the next. Apple Music Replay and YouTube Music Recap cover those services.
Spotify's support page describes Wrapped as an annual summary of your music, podcasts and audiobooks, with an interactive experience, personalized playlists and global toplists. It also says Wrapped and some features are subject to eligibility criteria, and it points to the newsroom for updates. Neither page gives a data cutoff or a date for the next Wrapped, so this guide uses no predicted dates.
The criteria that matter for an alternative:
A Hacker News post from January 2026 introducing an unofficial Wrapped-style tool shows people build their own versions. A competing article from Free Your Music, published September 22, 2026, makes a point worth keeping: Last.fm records from the day you connect, so earlier history needs your Spotify data download. The site sells related paid services and features its own tool first, so treat the ranking with care.
For music apps beyond stats, see our free music app list.
Last.fm is a listening tracker. According to its homepage, joining is free, and you track music by connecting Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Tidal or SoundCloud, or through its web client, app or a browser plugin. It shows real-time and all-time stats and sends weekly reports.
Last.fm Pro is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year and adds advanced stats and historical listening reports. Its page says Pro listening reports go back to December 2016 or your join date, whichever is more recent.
Who should not pick it: anyone who wants a yearly story-style recap, since the homepage mentions weekly reports only.
ListenBrainz is an open-source listening service. Its homepage says it is free, run by the nonprofit MetaBrainz, and lets you import listening history from Spotify and Last.fm, track what you play and view a Year in Music summary. Its repository shows the GPL-2.0 licence and a release dated October 22, 2026.
Its homepage does not detail how far back imports go, so test with a small import first.
Who should not pick it: anyone who needs a stated import range, since the homepage gives none. It mentions a mobile app without detail.
stats.fm is a stats app for Spotify listeners. According to its Plus page, the free version has ads, 50 top tracks, 50 top artists and no top albums or history import. Plus is ad-free, shows 99 or more top tracks, artists and albums, and adds history import, playcounts, listening clocks and custom timeframes. The page gives no Plus price.
It links to a Spotistats app for iOS and Android and says it is not affiliated with Spotify.
Who should not pick it: anyone who wants full history without paying, since history import needs Plus.
Apple Music Replay is built into Apple Music. Apple's support page says to open the Music app, go to Home, scroll to Replay: Your Top Music and tap Go back in time, or visit replay.music.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account you use with Apple Music.
Replay shows top songs, artists and albums each month and a year-end view. You get a notification once you have played enough music, and Use Listening History must be on.
Who should not pick it: Spotify listeners who are not ready to switch services.
YouTube Music Recap is the built-in summary for YouTube Music. According to YouTube Music's help page, the end-of-year Recap needs at least 10 hours of music listening between January 1 and November 15 and at least 5 songs with repeat listens. A seasonal Recap needs 4 hours.
Periods when watch history was paused do not count, and auto-delete cannot be set to remove activity older than 3 months. It is not available for users who mostly listen to music made for kids.
Who should not pick it: people who keep watch history off.
Pay only if you need history that the free tiers cap. Last.fm Pro at $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year adds historical listening reports. stats.fm Plus unlocks history import and longer top lists, though its page gives no price. Apple Music and YouTube Music recaps come with those services, so switching just for a recap means paying for the service.
