Verdict:Leave Quizlet if the free tier now feels capped, or if you want spaced repetition that is built to last. Anki is the free answer for anyone studying seriously: it is AGPL-3.0, free on desktop and AnkiWeb, and its scheduler is stricter than anything Quizlet offers. The cost is a plainer interface and a steeper first week. Brainscape sits in the middle, with a free plan of unlimited cards, import and spaced repetition, and Pro at $7.99 a month billed yearly. RemNote makes sense when you take notes first and cards second; its free plan has unlimited cards and Pro is $8 a month. Knowt looks and feels most like Quizlet, which helps with importing decks, but check its pricing page, as this page quotes no Quizlet price. Kahoot answers a different need: a teacher running a live quiz, free only for 15-minute sessions with up to 15 players. The trade-off is community content. Quizlet's strength is the huge library of decks other people made, and none of these replicate it, so export your sets before you cancel anything.
