Verdict:Podia is a tidy all-in-one: courses, memberships, downloads and email on one bill. Its Mover plan is $42 a month billed annually ($49 monthly) with a 5% transaction fee, and there is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. If cost is the issue, Payhip is the easiest swap: a free plan with a 5% transaction fee and every feature, so you pay only when you sell. Systeme.io is the free pick when you also want funnels and email, with a 2,000-contact cap. Both give up Podia's calm, single-purpose interface. If you want to own the platform, Moodle (GPL-3.0) and Frappe Learning (AGPL-3.0) are free software, but you pay in hosting and setup time, and neither ships with a storefront as polished as Podia's. Thinkific and Teachable are the paid, course-first rivals: Teachable's Starter looks cheaper at $29 a month yearly but adds a 7.5% transaction fee, while Thinkific's Start plan is $82 a month billed annually. The trade-off is convenience against cost. Stay with Podia if you sell several product types and value having email included. Leave it when you earn little from courses and a free plan or self-hosted LMS would do the same job.

Why people look for Podia alternatives

Podia has no free plan, only a 14-day trial. The Mover plan is $42 a month billed yearly ($49 monthly) and charges a 5% Podia transaction fee on top of Stripe or PayPal's 2.9% + 30 cents. It caps you at 50 products and 100 email subscribers and leaves out affiliate marketing, upsells, PayPal checkout and Zapier. Those start on Shaker at $84 a month billed yearly ($99 monthly), which allows 150 products and 500 subscribers.
