Verdict:Mint is no longer a standalone app, so if you are here you probably need a replacement rather than a comparison. Intuit's Mint page now says Mint has been reimagined on Credit Karma, and tracking spending and net worth there is not the same as the budgeting you had. Monarch Money is the closest like-for-like option: automatic account sync and shared budgets, at $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year, and no free plan. If you want to pay nothing, Actual Budget and Firefly III are open-source apps you host yourself, which means you maintain them and handle bank syncing yourself. GnuCash is the third free choice and works best if you already think in accounts and ledgers. Tiller is for people who want transactions flowing into a spreadsheet, with a 30-day trial then $99 a year. The trade-off is convenience versus control. Paid apps do the bank connections for you, while free ones ask you to enter or import transactions. If you want automation, pay for Monarch; if you value privacy and own data, host Actual Budget.

Why people look for Mint alternatives

Intuit's Mint page now says Mint has been reimagined on Credit Karma. It tells users that reviewing transactions, monitoring spending and tracking net worth now have a new home there, with a link to a Credit Karma signup page. Mint is no longer a standalone budgeting app, so anyone who wants a dedicated budgeting tool, offline data or their own copy of their records has to choose a replacement.
