Verdict:Leave Life360 if you mainly want to see where family members are and do not need driving reports or paid safety extras. Plan prices vary, so look at the in-app price before you renew. If everyone has an iPhone, Apple's Find My covers live sharing and arrival alerts with nothing extra to install. If everyone uses Android or Google accounts, Google's location sharing does the same inside Maps. Mixed households are the hard case, because the built-in options do not talk to each other, and that is where Life360 earns its fee. OwnTracks and Traccar suit people who want location data on their own server rather than a vendor's, at the cost of setup time and no family-friendly features such as crash alerts. GeoZilla is a paid app of the same type, so it only makes sense if its price or layout suits you better. The trade-off is simple: the free options give you a map dot, and Life360 gives you history, places and alerts across both phone platforms. Stay if you use those daily; leave if you only ever open the map.
